Preserve product information

Prepare packaging or photographs of it, labelling, the batch number and instructions. Describe storage, opening time and application. If known, disclose any remaining source product and unused material from the same batch.

Record the application conditions

Task definition benefits from information about the substrate, its preparation, temperature, component mixing, layer thickness and holding time. If data are unknown, say so. An assumption that application procedures were breached cannot replace information about the actual process.

Separate the examination questions

A question may concern a particular component, comparison of two materials or whether measured characteristics meet documentation. Strength and adhesion checks are separate tests. The programme's scope follows the finding actually required.

What to send initially

A description of the situation, overall and failed-area photographs, instructions and supply documents suffice to begin. Before removing fragments or sending samples, agree their composition and transfer method. Availability of the source object affects examination limits.
